Patrick Bruce Metheny, né le 12 août 1954 à Lee's Summit dans le Missouri aux États-Unis, est un guitariste américain de jazz et leader du Pat Metheny Group. Le travail de Pat Metheny peut être divisé en deux branches : d'un côté le Pat Metheny Group, et de l'autre, des projets en solo ou en collaboration avec d'autres artistes d'horizons variés. Issu d'une famille de musiciens, il commence par la trompette avant de passer à la guitare. Il rentre dans une école de musique où il passe du statut d'étudiant à celui de professeur en un an...
