Biographie

Philippe Petit (né le 23 novembre 1954 à Marmande) est un guitariste, compositeur de jazz français vivant à Nice. Musicien exceptionnel, Il se fait rare.... https://www.myspace.com/philippepetitguitariste In 2008 I celebrated 25 years of activism. I am still involved in music out of passion, and do the best I can to give original sounds some of the recognition they deserve. After all those years sharing my musical passions with as many listeners as possible, supporting the works of talented musicians + enjoying a few releases and doing music in groups I have decided that in 2009 I'll make my solo works available and also enrich them thru collaborations... Thus in the work, I am doing an album with Chapter 24 from Athens, another one in collab with Lydia Lunch, a trilogy with Eugene Robinson (Oxbow), an album with James Johnston (Gallon Drunk/Bad Seeds/Faust) + a DVD in collab with Raymond Salvatore Harmon. My first solo CD is upcoming on Beta Lactam Ring Records, as well as a a single with Cosey Fanni Tutti on Optical Sound and [reciprocess : +/vs.] is now ready for your ears... I am not a musician and even if I create some original music I'd rather introduce myself as a "musical travel agent" than a composer. I try to tell a story, with a beginning and an end, invite you to share my world for a while. When I play live I use Max MSP to process textures w/ my laptop (prepaired strings, various clicks & electro-acoustic or field recordings forming a tapestry of sound) to create a deep sound assemblage. Topping it all, I use turntables to take advantage of the vinyl material to fondle released sounds… http://www.myspace.com/philippepetit Read more on Last.fm.
