L'ancienne élève de Dave Liebman dirige à New York depuis fin 2009 un quintette fédérant les tendances d'une multitude d'autres projets (parmi lesquels Sleepthief, Paradoxical Frog et le Tom Rainey Trio). Comme sur les deux premiers opus, chaque composition relève de sa propre logique (le paradoxe d'une errance méticuleusement cartographiée) et inscrit note à note son tracé distinct, évitant scrupuleusement insistance téléphonée et répétition de climats. Au sujet de ces subtiles imbrications composition-improvisation, voies obligées du jazz du XXIe siècle, Steve Lacy parlait de post-free.
