"Ma vie a été inarrêtable" nous dit la légende soul Candi Staton pour expliquer le titre de son 30ème album. "Une vie incroyable mais certainement pas normale". Effectivement au fil d'une carrière de 50 ans, Staton a connu bien des hauts et bas. Elle a sorti des tubes sur chaque décennie. Unstoppable est à la fois une célébration de cet héritage et un pas en avant audacieux, avec un son funky et contemporain mais baigné de southern soul et du blues de ses racines d'Alabama. Comme tous ses albums, il est profondément personnel mais également ouvert sur les événements récents.
