Composé des trois sœurs Wiggin, et de leur père (producteur, manageur,...) les Shaggs auront joué presque exclusivement à la mairie de Fremont (Nouvelle Angleterre) et dans un foyer de soins de santé local, entre 1968 et 1973. Austin Wiggin Jr a toujours eu la conviction que ses filles seraient, un jour, de grandes stars, a consacré sa vie et une bonne partie des économies de la famille pour réaliser ce disque. On peut bien penser ce que l’on veut de la musique des Shaggs mais leur album « philosophy of the world » a été réédité 16 fois depuis sa sortie en 1969 et a marqué des artistes tel Kurt Cobain ou Frank Zappa.....
